Q

Why did puritans fail to win any of their demands at the conference?

A
  1. If they suggested major alterations to church government, they would be branded extremists, so they played down their demands, leading James to see their demands as petty and largely ignore them. 2. They wanted to impress the king with the strength of their support, so organized petitioning across the country, this upset james as he saw it as undue pressure.
