What was the consequence of the York house conference?

A

Held in 1626, it was an attempt to heal religious divisions, all it did was confirm to the puritans that Arminians had the support of Buckingham and (by extension) Charles.

A

It was taking precedence over all other issues, mass was openly being celebrated in court and it seemed logical to commons that Arminianism was nothing but a step on the road to Catholicism.
