Yes, but not in cases of sexual assault. All cases of sexual assault shall be submitted to the prosecutors office

In the event and inmate reports a sexual assault, What actions are mandated by policy?

1) . Immediately notify the shift sergeant and PREA coordinator
2) . the shift sergeant will notify the on-duty Lieutenant duty captain and in the event the shift lieutenant is not on…the SIU Lieutenant.
3) . Immediately remove the victim to a safe place
4) . notify jail medical personnel
5) . secure the scene
6) . separate all witnesses
7) . jail counselors will be notified
8) . SIU will determine if the inmate will be taken to START for examination
9) . A report will be written, and IMACS entries done.
