The boys reads the Torah in the synagogue for the first time.
He wears tallit and tefillin for the first time.
The boys becomes responsible for his own faith.
What is the importance of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah?
They become an adult.
Preparing for it brings you closer to God and your community.
Choosing to accept your role in the chosen people of God.
Can become part of the Minyan.

Woman of valour

Orthodox
What happens during Bat Chayill?
She will talk about a topic related to Judaism but will not read from the Torah.
What is kosher?
food that Jews are allowed to eat. clean/acceptable.
What is treyfah?
food that Jews are not allowed to eat. unclean.

dietary laws.
