To indicate time, when do you use “e…” ?
Use “e…” with l’una, mezzogiorno, and mezzanotte.
When do you use “sono le…”?
Use “sono le…” with all other time expressions except l’una, mezzogiorno, and mezzanotte.
How would you indicate a time in the morning, afternoon, or evening?
Use “di mattina” after the hour to indicate A.M.
For P.M., add to the time “del pomeriggio” (12pm to 5pm),
“di sera” (5pm to midnight), or
“di notte” (midnight to early morning).
How do you respond to “A che ora…?” when someone asks when something is?
To respond, use “a,” “all’”, or “alle” + the hour.
