active directory
Central store of all domain objects.
domain
a group of computers, printers, and devices that share a common set of rules for communication within a network.
group policy
allows administrators to manage and control settings for users and computers within a network environment.
IP address
a unique identifier for any device that connects to a network, such as your computer, smartphone, or printer.
LAN
a private network that connects computers, printers, servers, and other devices within a specific physical area.
NAT
allow devices within a private network to communicate with devices outside the network.
DNS
translates domain names (like www.example.com) into numeric IP addresses (like 192.0.2.1) that computers use to identify each other.
DHCP
a system that automatically gives devices on a network their own addresses and settings so that devices can join and use a network without users needing to manually configure everything.
MAC address
a unique identifier assigned to network devices which is fixed and cannot be changed.
