- the attempt to stop western influences on Japanese people (the philosphy, religion and the technology)
Why did Shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu create the isolation policy?
He wanted to limit the contact between Japan and the outside world more since he thought that foreign influences would corrupt japan and also be a threat to his rule
