Define Islam?
Islam
The religion of the Muslims, a monotheistic faith regarded as revealed through Muhammad as the Prophet of Allah.

Define Ramadan.
The ninth month of the Muslim year and a time at which Muslims start fasting from dawn to sunset. It is a time to commemorate the first revelation of the Qur’an to Mohammad.
Define Mohammad?
The Arab founder of Islam. He is thought to be the chief prophet of God. He was born in Mecca and it is believed that the Qur’an was dictated to him by an angle sent by God.
Define Qur’an.
The Islamic sacred book, believed to be the word of God as dictated to Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel and written down in Arabic. The Koran consists of 114 units of varying lengths, known as suras ; the first sura is said as part of the ritual prayer. These touch upon all aspects of human existence, including matters of doctrine, social organization, and legislation
What is the first pillar of Islam?
- Shahadah: faith (declaring that there is only one God, Allah and a a prophet, a messenger of God, Muhammad.
What is the second pillar of Islam?
- Salat: prayer (it consists of 5 daily prayers).
What is the third pillar of Islam?
- Zakat: giving money to charities to benefit the poor and needy.
What is the fourth pillar of Islam?
- Sawm: fasting during the month of Ramadn.
What is the fifth pillar of Islam?
- Hajj: pilgrimage to Mecca.
Define mosque?
A Muslim place of worship.
Define Imam?
The person who leads prayers in a mosque.
