How has Australia changed religiously?
Post-war migration bringing new religions. First it was just aboriginal spirituality and then it was largely Christian 97% with settlers. Then when WAP was removed many more came.
How has religion in Australia been affected by policies?
The WAP kept many different religions out. Catholic convicts held riots and were then monitored and banned from holding masses. In the early 1900s until the 70s multiculturalism and the expressing of one’s own culture was discouraged, they had to fit in.
What are the largest religions?
Christianity (total), Catholic, Anglican, no religion
What are the smallest religions?
Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism
What are the declining religions?
Anglican, Uniting Church, Presbyterian and Reformed
What are the fastest growing religions?
