What causes irritant contact dermatitis?
A
Caused by repeated exposure to substances that abrade, irritate and aggravate the skin
DOES NOT REQUIRE PREVIOUS EXPOSURE TO OCCUR LIKE IN CONTACT ALLERGIC

Treatment of irritant contact dermatitis?
A
- Avoidance of causing agent
- Difficult for occupation
- Topical steroids in acute flare

How to diagnose contact irritant dermatitis?
A
Hard to distinguish from allergic contact dermatitis
-May overlap with atopic dermatitis
