Example: All employees must abide by the rules.
= All employees must comply with the rules.
Survenir
Exemple: Plusieurs problèmes sont survenus.
Infinitive: occur / arise
Past simple: occurred / arose
Past participle: occurred / arisen
Example: Many problems have occurred. = Many problems have arisen.
Éveiller / Se réveiller
Exemples:
Son discours a éveillé ma curiosité.
Je me suis réveillé en pleine nuit.
Infinitive: Wake up / Awake
Past simple: Woke up / Awoke
Past participle: waken up / Awoken
Examples:
His speech awoke my curiosity.
I woke up in the middle of the night.
NOTE: For what we do in the morning. “wake up” is much more common that “awake”.

NOTE: “Live” is the normal word to describe a place where you habitually reside. E.g.: I live in Mascouche. “Dweller” is an anthropological and/or sociological word, and a literary word to mean “reside”. As a verb, it would not be used as a substitute for live except in some literary or poetic narrative.
