Why is the nutritional practice of dietitians and doctors limited?
Most traditional western medical school classes that teach about nutrition are very limited.
Overall doctors and RD’s haven’t taken the time to study or been willing to accept special diets and a prevention or treatment of medical problems.
What are the main components of a RD’s practice?
- provide diabetes-controlling diets.
- encourage weight-loss
- lower high blood pressure
- manage heart disease.
What are the three basic metabolic functions of the body?
Building (tonification), cleansing (detoxification) and maintenance (balance).
What is the metabolic function building?
If we don’t give the body what it needs during this time, we may feel a lack of energy and not develop the strength required for future activities.
What is the metabolic function of cleansing?
Purification cycle-must eliminate previous buildup.
-May appear as more active bowels, more mucous flowing out the body.
What is the metabolic function of maintenance?
Usually the body’s main function.
Why isn’t it a very good solution to treat ulcer with dairy products?
Milk can provide a brief relief of ulcer pain because it coats the stomach lining.
Milk also stimulates you stomach to produce more acid and digestive juices which can aggravate ulcers.
What are some things that you can do to help treat ulcers?
- Aloe Vera juice
- Eliminating food allergies
- Drinking chamomile tea at room temperature
- Raw cabbage juice
- Diet
