The process by which a neutral stimulus (person, place, activity, or object) becomes a conditioned reinforcement
What is HIPAA
The health insurance portability and accountability act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that required the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patients consent or knowledge
What is PHI?
Protected Health Information (PHI) Any info about health status, provision of Healthcare that is created or collected by a covered entity and can be linked to a specific individual
What is informed consent?
To outline the scope of treatment to the consumer, explain the potential risks and benefits of treatment, and that armed with this information, the consumer willingly chooses to initiate services
What are Clients rights?
The right to dignity and respect
What is a mandated reporter?
A person who has regular contact with vulnerable people and is therefore legally required to ensure a report is made when abuse is observed or suspected
What is a BCBA-D?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst- Doctoral
BCBA with doctoral or post-doctoral training in behavior analysis may apply for the designation of BCBA-D, this is not a separate certification and does not grant any privileges beyond BCBA certification
What Is a BCBA?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst will provide support to individuals and their family’s by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analysis and assessment, Behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills
What is a BCaBA?
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst- an undergraduate-level certificate in behavior analysis
What is a RBT?
Registered Behavior Technician, a paraprofessional delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who are responsible for all work RBT’s perform
What is Client Dignity?
Do not talk down to clients, do not talk about them in front of them, consider the whole child, we’re not trying to change them, but to make them happy, treat others as you want to be treated, show compassion and kindness, people first language- people are people, clients should be free from harm, safety is our top priority, right to privacy

Names, location, dates, phone/fax#, email, social security, medical records, numbers, health insurance, beneficiary #s, acct#, certificate, license#, device ID/Serial, URL, Biometric, full face photo image, any unique code
