Intro to NS Flashcards

1
Q

Explain basic structure of spinal cord (white and grey matter)

*****check

A

White: on outside/ myelinated

Grey: center

  • poster=dorsal side: carries sensory/ afferent signals
  • anterior=ventral side: carries motor/ efferent signals
  • lateral= visceral efferent/ ANS/ motor system
  • **double check this!!!!!!! Mentioned multiple times!

Q

Where in body and what system are they associated with?

A

Bipolar(rare): in some retinal and olfactory nerves

Multipolar (most common): everything… Motor/inter neurons. Cells of cortex and cerebellum
