Q

Explain healthy curvature of spine (Sagittal plane)

A

Anteriorly concave kyphosis: found in thorax and sacrum

Anteriorly convex lordosis: natural curvature of neck (cervical) and lower back (lumbar)

Q

Name the muscle of the transversospinalis group

A
  • rotator brevis/longus: TP-SP (1-2 segments)
  • multifidis brevis/longus: TP-SP (3-4 segments, mainly in lumbar region)

-semispinalis: same but 5-8 segments. When you first uncover back, you mainly see the long slips of this muscle. Don’t extend to lumbar region
Superiorly-capitus: more superior & superficial
-cervicis
