Form of verbal behaviors that created printed material. It is also described as language expression through the printed or visual form
Writing
Smallest element do written language, represented by a single letter or a combination of the letters of the alphabet
Grapheme
Unit of speech with a single vowel or a vowel and a constant or consonants
Syllable
Is reading and writing in the conventional form
Literacy
Involves similar sounds, especially at the end of two or more words
Rhyming
Method of teaching reading to children by pointing out letter-sound correspondences (sounding out words)
Phonics
The initial consonant or consonants clusters of the syllable or words
Onset
Smallest element of oral language that makes a difference in meaning
Phoneme
Form of verbal behavior evoked by printed stimuli. It also describes as oral rendition of writing material or decoding of the printed words and sentences
Reading (oral)
Is awareness of individual phonemes, syllables, syllable insets, words, words that rhyme and skills in manipulating all of them
Phonological awareness
Prefers to every skills related to reading and writing in preschoolers who are not yet reading or writing. It includes skills such as recognizing the letters of the alphabet, pointing to printed words, and holding a book in its correct orientation.
