Intraventricular Tumors Flashcards
Central Neurocytoma
Best diagnostic clue: “Bubbly” mass in frontal horn or body of lateral ventricle attached to septum pellucidum. May involve 3rd ventricle
Hydrocephalus, Ca++ common, flow voids
T1 heterogenous. iso with hypo cystic components
T2 bright
FLAIR bright
C+ Moderate to strong heterogeneous enhancement
Choroid Plexus Papilloma/Carcinoma
Best Diagnostic clue: Child with strongly enhancing lobulated (cauliflower-like) intraventricular mass (atrium of 3rd or 4th)
T1 hypo
T2 hyper
C+ intense enhancement
VERY lobulated/cauli like mass in atrium of 3rd in children or 4th ventricle in adults
Intraventricular Meningioma
T1 hypo
T2 hyper
C+ homogenous enhancement
Subependymal Giant Cell Astrocytoma SEGA
Enhancing mass in the lateral ventricle near the foramen of monro
associated with tuberous sclerosis (look for subependymal nodules and hamartomas)
Subependymoma
T1 iso/hypointense
T2 hyperintense
C+ NO ENHANCEMENT
middle aged, obex of 4th or foramen of monro in the lateral ventricle.
