How does saggital sinus IVT present?
A
- 45% of IVT
- headache, vomiting, seizures, reduced vision, papilloedema

How does transverse sinus IVT present?
A
- headache +/- mastoid pain, focal neuro, seizures, papilloedema

A
cerebellar signs, lower cr nerve palsies

A
5th and 6th cranial nerve palsies

How does Cavernous sinus IVT present?
A
headache, chemosis (swelling/oedema of conjunctiva), eyelid oedema, proptosis, painful opthalmoplegia

A
thunderclap headache

common causes?
A
- pregnancy
- OCP
- head injury
- dehydration
- malignancy
- thrombophilia

Ix?
A
- exclude SAH & meningitis
- CT/MRI venography
- LP: increased pressure, may show RBCs and xanthochromia

Mx
A
- LMWH–> warfarin
