Talk about you as a gamer?
- Games have always been part of my life
- Parents were games (examples)
- So much a facet, I didn’t understand how it was a hobby
- Now, have passion more than general consumer (examples)
- I keep up even when I can’t play.
Talk about me as an artist?
- Artist since a kid, digitally since highschool cuz of uncle
- wasn’t until late high school and then right after than freelancing became and necessity. Even WITH my other jobs.
- that slowly grew
What sort of art have I done?
Everything related to branding, firstly.
cards, menus, van wraps, polos, etc. Oh I’ve done some decks. For startups.
I’ve done web design. Though I would want to be fully transparent in that I’ve never built a site from the ground up. I dip freely into html and css when I use wordpress, but believe it or not I’ve barely used dreamweaver.
I’ve done concept artwork for videogames, most recently at least. Literally the last few months.
Gaming wise.. I’ve done artwork for card games, a mock up for a board game, and I don’t know what happened to it..
I’ve done storyboards. But not in a long time.. I’d be embarrassed to show my art style back then.
Right now for example I’m just finishing up a simple branding package. I’m also about to do the illustrations and format work for book on autism.
What do I bring to the table?
Probably most relevant to you folks is that I have a critical mind that has both an appreciation for narrative, but I have a strong understanding as to systems through which you all have to tell them through. I can merge both my passion as a lover of art and story, with my incessant.. almost OCD level need to analyze what’s created… pragmatically, for the sake of making it better. I have what I would like to say is a natural understanding for .. you know what is it.. MDA (mechanics, dynamics, and aesthetics).. but I know deep down it’s just from consuming a wide variety of things through my life.
