how does acute interstitial nephritis present?
A
AKI and hypertension

what is acute interstitial nephritis caused by?
A
typically caused by hypersensitivity reaction to:
drugs (NSAIDs or Abx)
infection
other features of hypersensitivity may be present ie rash, fever

how does chronic interstitial nephritis present?
A
with CKD

Mx of both?
A
- treat underlying cause
- steroids may play a role in reducing inflammation
