What is privilege?
I earned access to resources (social power), only readily available to some people, because of their social group membership
What is intersectionality?
It is concerned with privilege, social inequality and the collusion of multiple minority identities
What is the intersectionality theory and who was it introduced by?
Kimberlé Crenshaw
It is a sociological theory about how an individual can face multiple threats of discrimination when their identities overlap a number of minority classes, such as race, gender, age, ethnicity, health and other characteristics
What is consequentialism?
The rightness or wrongness of an action or policy based on consequences
What is deontology?
Justification is based on the amount of good the action or policy will bring, rather than based on consequences of the action
What is utilitarianism?
One should act to promote the greatest good for the greatest number
What is Act utilitarianism?
An action becomes morally right when it produces the greatest good for the greatest number of people
What is rule utilitarianism?
The moral correctness of an action depends on the correctness of the RULES that allows it to achieve the greatest good.
