What is a network
A network is a link between two or more devices in order to share resources
What are data packets
Data packets are small peices of data that are broken down from larger messages or files
when transmitted across the internet
What is the function of a router
A function of a router is to transmit data between networks
What is the function of a modem
A modem is a device that modulates and demodulates signals to allow data transmission
What is the function of a bridge
A bridge is a device for linking seperate segments of local area network
What is the function of the range extender
A range extender amplifies the existing network signal for all nearby devices

What are some advantgages of using WIFI
- It is easy to move around
- Less expensive to setup
- Most devices are made with a built in WIFI adapter.
What are some disadvantages of using WIFI
- It has slower data transfer than ethernet
- It is less secure than Ethernet
- It relies on signal strength to the WAP, signals can be obstructed

- It has very low power consumption
