What is an IO?
deals with global issues and relations
made up of 3 or more states that support and office that preforms tasks with a common purpose
created through treaties, emanation, and international meetings
What is the United Nations?
created in 1945 after WW2, it is a common intergovernmental group that preserves global security and preserves the rights for all people.
Currently has 193 country members
What is NATO?
north atlantic treaty organization
a political and military alliance to promote collective national security. 12 founding members, 31 current members
What is Foreign policy?
strategies and decisions made by a country to reach its national goals, interests, and interactions with other countries or IO’s.
What is diplomacy?
it is how foreign policy is executed. The practice of managing state and country relations through communication and negotiation without using physical force.
What is sustainable development?
We have to figure out how to consume in a sustainable way

What is a migrant? What is Migration caused by?
a migrant is someone who has to leave their homes. Can be out of force, for safety reasons, discrimination, or quality of live is bad
war, poverty, state violence, human trafficking
Voluntary migration
Economic migrants: looking for opportunities across borders
not a life or death situation
Asylum seekers
people waiting to migrate but can’t because of approval of refugee status, waiting for the receiving country to approved their coming
Internally displaced persons (IDP)
They go to a different place to avoid conflict inside their own nation.
Forced or displaced to from their homes to avoid conflict, not going out of their country
