You’re completing an annual evaluation and are reviewing an officer CHP 100 forms. You noticed during a ride along, a month ago, you observe the officers arrest (1) DUI suspect. However, while reviewing his 100 form for that particular day you notice he documented 3 DUI arrests. After noticing this you also notice the number of citations has been inflated as well for the same day. When you discuss this with a peer, he/she suggested to speak to the officer immediately and get to the bottom of this issue. How would you handle the situation?

As a Sgt you’ve noticed that one of your white Officers has impounded numerous vehicles driven by drivers of Hispanic dissent. you also noticed a majority of his citations have been issued to Asian motorists. Lastly, all of his warrant arrests have been Black males in recent months. How would you handle the situation?

One of your graveyard officers contact you in private and tells you that his partner, Ofc Smith, made an arrest of a subject on the prior evening for DUI; however, he felt Ofc Smith used excessive force after taking the suspect into custody. He related that Ofc Smith punched and kicked the suspect after the suspect was placed into handcuffs. What, if any do you need to do or consider?
