What is one definition of intelligence?
Terms of one’s capacity for logic, abstract thought understanding, self-awareness, communication learning, emotional knowledge, memory, planning, creativity and problem solving.
Where is intelligence most widely studied?
Intelligence is most widely studied in humans, but has also been observes in non-human animals and in plants. Artificial intelligence is intelligence in machines. (ex. software)
What is psychometrics?
A field of study concerned with the theory and technique of psychological measurement. Some psychometric researches have concerned themselves with the construction and validation of assessment instruments such as questionnaires, tests, raters judgments, and personality tests.
List some things that intelligence enables humans to do.

What is Eugenics?
A social philosophy advocating improvement of human genetic traits through the promotion of high reproduction of people with desired traits or reduced reproduction and sterilization of people with less desired traits

What are some common ways in which negative eugenics are used to reduce unplanned pregnancies/births?
- sex ed
- promoting contraception
- abortion
- sterilization
- incentives for sterilization
- dollar a day program for teenagers to not get pregnant

- sterilization of mentally retarded or male/female criminals
- licenses for parenthood
How are positive eugenics used to increase desired births?
- financial benefits per child (baby bonuses, taxes)
- promoted as an ethical obligation of the elite
- eugenic immigration (point system)

- prenatal diagnosis of genetic disorders resulting in termination of a defective fetus

What is the definition of a concept?
Group related objects, ideas, events used to compare and connect ideas that are similar
What are the three kinds of reasoning?
1) Deductive: arrive at specific conclusions based on generalizations
2) Inductive: moves from specific to general, from observation to conclusions
3) Dialectical: involves evaluating to opposing sides
What is emotional intelligence?
The ability to read other’s emotions and respond to them appropriately.
