A

Patents protect new inventions and cover how things work, what they do, how they do it, what they are made of and how they are made.

If there is a granted patent, it must be renewed every 5 years for only 20 years. CAN BE EXPENSIVE.

Patents make it illegal for anyone to make, sell, import or use the invention without permission.

You can either sell the invention and all the IP rights OR license the intention to someone but retain all the IP rights.
