Dehiscence
Splitting apart or separation of the skin, usually along suture lines.
Fluctuance
Palpable fluid underneath the skin which usually indicates pus collection.
Hematoma
Localized swelling filled with blood, resulting from ruptured blood vessels
Hyperpigmentation
The darkening of an area of skin
Induration
Hardened area of soft tissue
Lymphangitis
Inflammation of the lymphatic vessels which usually appears as red striking on the skin
Macular
Flat, res spots on the skin.
Maculopapular Rash
A rash characterized by a flat, red area on the skin covered with small, confluent bumps.
Papular
Small, raised bumps
Serosanguinous
Containing both blood and serum
Subungual
Beneath the nail
Urticaria
Hives; a red, raised, pruritic rash which is usually a sign of an allergic reaction. Also called wheals.
Vesicles
Small fluid filled blister.
