Implications

A
  • double check med - HIGH ALERT
  • check blood glucose Q6 hours or more if stressed
  • symptoms of HYPOglycemia: tired, tingling in hands, mouth, feet, tachycardia, irritable, restless, excessive hunger, diaphoresis
  • early symptoms of HYPERglycemia: increased thirst, increased voiding w/sugar in urine, fatigue, headache, blurred vision
  • late symptoms: fruity mouth, N/V
  • lab lookout: fasting BS 70-100
