How do you set MDA?
Use the side Panel down by your knee, have large knob selected to “MDA” and then use small knob to set MDA/DH on the PFD!
When Navigating by the ____, you want to be following ‘white’ data
FMS
What color data do we need on an RNAV approach?

What color data do we need on a LOC or VOR approach?
Green
If RECEIVING VECTORS for a LOC or VOR intercept, what color data do we need to be in?

What color data do you need to be following when Navigating by the FMS
White data
After you initiate a Missed Approach, how are you flying the a/c?
- Hand flying using heading mode to maneuver towards the published missed
- Select WHITE data
- Now you can select NAV mode (HDG will remain active until FMS calculates where you need to be)
On a non-precision approach, how far out should the a/c be configured (gear down, flaps 45)
3-5 NM out from the FAF….ensure proper power setting
5nm - Gear down, flaps 30, before landing to the line
2nm - Flaps 45, before landing below the line
Be at 160-Vref
You just received vectors to final and were cleared for the approach, what do you do?
- Wing lights ON
“go green, clean the screen, make it big”
- Switch to ‘green’ data
- Set outter most approach fix to L2 on FMS
- Set the ‘INTC CRS xxx’
Missed approach profile and actions:
- TOGA
- Going missed, set thrust, flaps 8, spoilers in
- Positive rate, gear up, speed mode
- 400’ - Heading mode
- 600’ - AP on
- USE HEADING BUG TO STEER A/C TOWARDS MISSED APPROACH CRS
- SELECT WHITE DATA
- Select NAV mode…should see “FMS” in flight annunciator…should turn green when active

Speed or VS mode will not work unless:
The altitude selector is at an altitude different than the one you’re at
