What are we looking for during the *Fire Test? (Toggled to FAIL)
Test FAIL 5 messages in YELLOW: 1. L FIRE FAIL 2. R FIRE FAIL 3. APU FIRE FAIL 4. L JET OVHT FAIL 5. R JET OVHT FAIL
What are we looking for during the *Fire Test when we toggle the ENGINE BOTTLE 1 and ENGINE BOTTLE 2 to the TEST position?

Engine(s) Start
- Press Start button (hold 3 secs minimum)
- Check IGN A or IGN B light (EICAS)
- Check L/R ENGINE START light (EICAS)
* begin timing for starter limits* - 20 percent N2/ITT below 120 - Thrust Levers to IDLE
- Monitor engine (observe ITT rise within limits)
- 55 percent N2 - IGNITION and STARTER cutout
AFTER Start Check (Flow) - CA

Shutdown Check (Flow)
Chocks and Brakes - As Required Electronics/GEN 1 and 2 - SET/OFF Fuel Pumps - OFF *Fuel Check Valve - *CHECKED Thrust Levers - SHUT OFF Seat Belt Signs - OFF Anti-Ice - OFF Hydraulic Pump 3A - As Required Beacon - OFF Nosewheel Steering - OFF
Cleared to start check below the line (actually starting the engines) and callouts
1st flight of the day - L engine first
Put finger up to Glareshield to tell ground crew you’re ready to spool up
- Packs - OFF
- Ignition - ARMED
- Fuel Check Valve - (standby)…
Place hand on respective thrust lever, and push in started for 3 seconds min
“N2”
“oil pressure”
“N1”
- Looking for 20 percent N2 then Thrust lever to Idle
“fuel flow”
ITT rise - “Light off”
“Started cutout”
Keep hand on thrust lever until 246:
(2x - N1) (4xx - ITT) (6x - N2)
Turn off fuel pumps - look for L R BOOST PUMP INOP and L R FUEL LO PRESS cautions…if does not appear proceed to dry motor! - then turn fuel pumps back on

AFTER Start Check (Flow) - FO
Bleeds/Packs/Cargo Fan - Packs ON, Cargo Fan ON
Anti-Ice - Test complete 1st flight of day. 14th stage ISOL valve OPEN and looking for message
Probes - LH RH ON

Fuel Crossflow - Auto/Override switch/light Pressed in (MAN XFLOW on EICAS)
Ignition/Anti-ice - “Cowl” “Cowl Wing” “Continuous ignition”
Radar/Terrain - Radar on the left, Terrain on the right
- Cleared for TO*
- Respond to radio call
Lights ALL on PA - Chime Transponder on 1 Radar knob selected to "WX" TCAS CAS - FO verifies EICAS messages and says "Checked" CA clears, and FO actually clears them
When is the Climb check completed by the FO?
At 1,000’ after the CA calls “Flaps Up, Climb Check, Climb Thrust”
XFLOW - AUTO (enabled)
APU and Bleeds -

What is in the J-Patterns for FMS setup during the Before Start Check (:
FLTPLN - enter Dept, Dest, Flight #, Alternate
DEP/ARR - to set dept procedure, select runway
LEGS - verify
confirm and EXEC
PERF - enter ATIS temp. Go to 3rd page to enter other misc flight info (# of pax, etc)
MFD MENU - select info you want displayed (VNAV, Speed, Alt, etc)
RADIO - AUTO for auto-tune function, and verify freqs set
