- dehumanising image of “an animal” could be critiquing the disregard of women physically and emotionally. They’re objectifying her as an object of lust

- Idea of “take” connotes to “steal” an idea that scorned in the bible is a mortal sin. Edwordian era is highly religious and integral to society
