foundations (4 common types)

  1. Trench and strip - used for resi, for walls and closely spaced columns.
  2. Raft - slab foundation over the whole site to spread the load of the structure.
  3. Piled - long and slender reinforced concrete cylinders.
  4. Pad - under individual or group of columns so that the columns is spread.

    Cavity wall - two layers, metal
