foundations (4 common types)

A
  1. Trench and strip - used for resi, for walls and closely spaced columns.
  2. Raft - slab foundation over the whole site to spread the load of the structure.
  3. Piled - long and slender reinforced concrete cylinders.
  4. Pad - under individual or group of columns so that the columns is spread.

  1. Solid Walls - one brick thick (min) with headers in.
    Cavity wall - two layers, metal
  2. Ties between, can be filled with insulation. EVIDENCE, Cavity tray, air brick or wheep hole.
