What is the insanity defence?

Insanity is a capacity defence that can be used for all crimes that a MR is needed to prove.

The defect of reason must be the result of a disease of the mind .

The disease of the mind must either cause the defendant not to know the nature/quality of the act OR not know he was doing wrong.
