- recent petition in 2015 to prevent trump entering UK after his racist anti-muslim comments reached 565000 signatures
- shows the vast amount of people that now get involved in petitions due to media
- 7 petitions past in 2017 became legislation
- ban on tampon tax came from petition, 38 degrees
- 6 mil votes banning Brexit but no action
