What does a lactic acid level of 2 mmol/L or greater indicate?
A
It indicates that the body is experiencing metabolic stress due to inadequate oxygen delivery or utilization

A
- lactic acid 2 mmol/L or greater
- high BG
- hypotension
- tachycardia
- tachypnea

A
- get blood culture
- administer antibiotic within 1 hour
- IV fluids
- vasopressors

- not chronic
- Hint: Hep A & E are vowels, so they are similar. Only difference is E has no vaccine.
