  2. Only used in UTI infections as it doesn’t penetrate into tissues
  3. Works by inhibiting cell wall, bacterial proteins and DNA
  4. Highly soluble in urine (bioavailability increases food)

  1. Occurs due to structural abnormality, blockage in urinary system and any other underlaying health conditions
  2. Treatment: Hospitalisation
  3. Empirical:
    - Fluroquinolone
    - Cephalosporin
    - IV aminoglycoside
    Duration: 7 to 14 days
