What is a Natural Resource?
are non-man made components of the Earth which has a value to humans (we can use it for something).
What is a Renewable Resources?
are resources which regenerate (grow) themselves naturally within 100 years or less (ex. forests)
What is a Non-renewable resources?
are resources which take millions of years to regenerate themselves (ex. gold, silver, copper, etc.)
What is a Primary Industries?
Extracting of raw materials (resources in their natural form) from the ground or water
e.g., mining, forestry, farming, fishing.
What is a Secondary Industries?
manufacturing products by the primary industry and puts them things together
- e.g., automobile assembly plants, factories
What is a Tertiary Industries?
Providing services to others
What is a Quaternary Industries?
- Non- traditional jobs: High technology, Research
What are Goods?
are tangible (real) things you manufacture (make).
What are Services?
Are things you do (services) for others
What are Basic Jobs?
Selling goods and services to people outside of the local community that brings new money into the local economy
What are Non-Basic Industries?
Selling goods or services to people within the local community
