nervous system needs high stimulation so constantly seeks excitement
Eysenck evaluation: strengths
- offenders do tend to be all that he describes
- other studies support the ideas
- useful in describing how measurable tendencies increase offending
Eysenck evaluation: weaknesses
- is a correlation between prisoners and personality type but it doesnt answer cause of criminality
- convicted offenders may be typical which means less impulsive criminals not getting caught
