An Indirect object is a N/PRO or word group that PRECEDES a DO and tells whom or to what the action of the verb is done.

What is the Formula for a indirect object?
A
N/PRO(subj) + V/VP + whom/what = DO to/for whom or what = indirect object.
An indirect object only exists if there is a DO and modifies it.

What are some tips to identify a indirect object?
A
Must have a DO and modifies it.
Cannot be an object of preposition.
Can be compound.
Comes between the V/VP and the DO
