Hemi-section of spinal cord causing ipsilateral loss of proprioception, vibration and motor function below the lesion; and contralateral loss of pain and temperature sensation from 1-2 levels below the lesion.

What is the cause of central cord syndrome?

A

Results from hyperextension in the presence of osteophytic spurs, often in older people. Greater motor deficit in upper limbs than lower limbs.

A

Infarction of the spinal cord in the distribution of the anterior spinal artery.
