What should you do if a wheel bursts whilst driving?
A
- hold the wheel firmly
- slowly pull up or roll to a stop at the side of the road

What should you do if you break down on a level crossing?
A
Get everyone out of the car immediately, then call the signal operator from the phone provided.

If there is an incident / breakdown in a tunnel, you should:

- switch off engine
- switch on hazards
- call for help from nearest emergency phone

How should you use a warning triangle?
A
Place it at least 45m away from your car. Never use on a motorway.

What should you do if you’re the first one at an incident?
A
- call emergency services asap
- make sure all vehicles are switched off
- move uninjured people away from the scene

When must you stop and give your name & address?
A
If you’re in an accident that damages another person / animal / vehicle / property. If you can’t stop you can go to a police station to report within 24 hours.

A
- pull over asap
- get everyone out the car and away from the vehicle
- call the fire service
- DO NOT open the bonnet
