Implant Testing: AC/DP Test before Skin Closure Flashcards
Instructor: What is the purpose of the AC/DP testing process before skin closing?
Trainee: To confirm the IS is placed correctly and the tongue responds as expected. Adjust placement if needed
→ Instructor: What are the recommended stimulation parameters for the procedure?
Trainee: The recommended parameters are: frequency at 35Hz, pulse duration at 120 µsec, train length and train interval at 2 seconds each, and amplitude set to 1%.
Instructor: What are the steps for AC/DP testing before skin closure, and what if the response isn’t achieved?
Trainee: Partially close the skin, place the AC/DP above the incision, align it with the skin, and check NIM signals and tongue response. Adjust pulse or amplitude as needed. If no response occurs above 20% amplitude, we need to reposition the IS.
