Definition of health?
A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being with not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Definition of fitness?
Ability to cope with demands of everyday life. The demands differ from person to person depending on what they do on a daily basis. Fitness is something that can fluctuate for better or worse
Fitness definition?
The ability to cope with the demands of everyday life
Mental well-being definition ?
A state of well-being in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his/her community. (WHO)

NHS stats for children with obesity?
19% of children 2-15 are OBESE
16% of children 2-10 are OBESE
25% of children 11-15 are OBESE
Definition of explosive strength?
The rapid contraction of muscle fibres to achieve a maximum generation on force- also related to power
Definition of static strength?
The holding of a limb or body part in a fixed or immobile position. The muscles achieve this by maintaining a state of contraction or tension often supported by ANTAGONISTIC PAIRS
Definition of dynamic strength?
The repeated contraction and relaxation of a muscle group or individual muscle. Dynamic strength also allows the limb to repeat a movement over a period of time with movement.
What is STAMINA dependant on?
Efficient external respiratory mechanisms
Efficiency of the blood in transporting oxygen in the lungs
Efficiency of the cardio-vascular system in transporting the oxygen to cells
Efficiency of the cells taking up & using oxygen
The efficiency of cells removing waste products.
Deficiencies in the cardio-vascular system can lead to coronary heart disease (CHD). Give some stats:
