“secretory IgA”; defends mucous membranes, people who don’t have IgA will have a history of infections
(AirwAy secretions, sAlivA, teArs, breAst milk, etc.)

A
- first antibody in the blood in response to infection (when you’re sick, iMMediately go to your MoM first)
- doesn’t hang around
- Can be used as a marker to keep the progress of infection
- IgM in the blood means current infection

- not found alone, helps B cells Differentiate into plasma cells to make antibodies
- always attached to the B cell
- warns the B cell that the antigen is in the blood
- indicators/ monitors of the B cell.
