Immune Response Flashcards
Type I HS: Which Ab and found on what cells?
IgE on mast cells and basophils
rate of type I HS?
FAST - anaphylaxis bc preformed Abs
Type II HS: Ab(s) invovled?
IgM and IgG
3 mech of type II HS?
- opsonization
- complement mediated lysis
- Ab-dep cell-med cytotox (ADCC) - due to NK
Type II HS aka:
cy-2-toxic
Ab and complement lead to MAC
test for type II HS?
direct and indirect Coombs
Mech of type III HS?
- Ag-Ab (IgG) complex activ complement
- attracts neutrophils
- neutrophils release lysosomal enz
type 3 reactions - what 3 things stuck together?
Ag - Ab - complement
type III - serum sickness - mech?
Ab to foreign protein produced (5 days), IC form and deposit in membrane, fix complement (–>tissue damage), more common than arthus
what causes serum sickness?
drugs acting as haptens - symptoms of fever, urticaria, arthralgia, proteinuria, lymphadenopathy, 5-10days after exposure
arthus rxn (type III) mech?
intradermal injection of Ag induce Ab –>form Ab-Ag complex in skin. characterized by edema, necrosis, activation of complement
test for arthus rxn?
immunoflourescent staining
type IV HS aka:
4th and LAST - delayed - cell mediated
4 T’s of type IV HS?
T lymphocytes
Transplant rejection
TB skin test
Touching (contact dermatitis)
A.C.I.D of hypersensitivies stands for?
A - Anaphylactive and Atopic (type I)
C - Cytotoxic (Ab mediated) - type II
I - Immune complex (type III)
D - Delayed (cell mediated) type IV
