Melting pots have been developed due to opening of borders in EU has led to the development of diasporas
E.g. Polish diasporas in the UK

Why does this immigration cause tension?
A
Host populations may believe immigrants are ‘filling too many jobs’, taking advantage of healthcare, and bringing unwanted culture change
E.g. 40% London’s pop is immigrants
People are finding it harder to get school places for their children when they’ve grown up in the area
People may generalise extremist religion ideas to people of the same background that have immigrated to host countries
