  • Agamemnon and Menelaus can’t sleep over concern with Trojans and wake other leaders and meet in no mans land
  • Nestor suggests night raid, Diomedes and Odysseus volunteer
  • Hector had same idea and Dolon volunteers asking for Achilles chariot
  • Odysseus and Diomedes question him and then kill him (dolon)
  • Diomedes kills 12 sleeping Thracians and Rhesus. Odysseus clears bodies and drives both men away after warning from Athene.
  • The men return, cleanse themselves and honour Athene

  • Patroclus claims Gods killed him and predicts Hectors death
