Genital lesions can form plaques: condyloma lata and superficial erosions

CV disease, gumma
How does neurosyphilis present?
asymptomatic, meningovascular, parenchymatous, or ocular disease
When should CSF be looked at?
in those who do not have an appropriate serologic response to treatment
What is the treatment of choice for all stages of syphilis?
penicillin
Should partners be treated for someone with syphilis?
Yes any contact in the past 90 days should also get a penicillin shot
In a person positive for chlamydia… do you treat for gonorrhea?
If the person is positive for gonorrhea… do you treat for chlamydia?
No! Just treat for chlamydia.
But, if gonorrhea is detected, you still give ceftriaxone and azithromycin.
