ICRU 89 Flashcards
ICRU 89 key points
1.defines volumes and adaptive brachy
2.2. don’t use PTV in brachy- significantly changes dose to CTV
3. volumetric reporting of OARs
4. using EQD2 for dose reporting
5. report D98%, D90%
CTV-adapt
residual GTV and surrounding pathologic tissue
high risk CTV
includes residual GTV and whole cervix and adjacent residual pathologic tissue
residual GTV
residual GTV at time of brachy, after tx (EBRT) assumed sufficient to control microscopic disease
-it is possible it has no residual disease compared to GTV at diagnosis (GTV init)
intermediate risk CTV
CTV high risk + margins
-10 mm in SI and lateral and 5 mm in AP
low risk CTV
in advanced cervical cancer, includes whole parametria, whole uterus, upper part of vagina, AP spaces towards bladder and rectum
