When should you select engine anti-ice?
When icing is anticipated.
This is really intake anti-ice
What happens with the engine anti-ice during electrical failures?
fails in the open (anti-ice ON) position
What is the engine anti-ice source?
HP bleed air
What happens when engine anti-ice is activated?
HP bleed air heats the engine intake AND continuous ignition is engaged
What is the FAULT light indicating?
Engine anti-ice valve position does not correspond to commanded position OR valve is in transit
What happens to the wing anti-ice on the ground?
Auto shuts off after 30 seconds
What happens with the wing anti-ice during electrical failures?
Fails closed (off)
What probes are heated?
AOA
TAT
Pitot
Static
Waste water drains
When are probes heated?
Auto in flight or when PROBE/WINDOW HEAT is ON
What is the max speed for the windshield wipers?
230 kts
When are icing conditions present?
OAT (or TAT in flight) <10C
Vis moisture
Vis <1sm
snow on ramp
What is the AUTO PROBE/WINDSHEILD mode do?
No heat without engines
Low power heat on ground and normal in flight when engines are running
What is the exception to applying anti-ice in icing conditions?
No anti-ice when SAT
What is the icing limitation in regards to slats?
Prolonged flight in icing with slat extended shall be avoided!
